OUR STORY

Givens Freight Lines, founded by Michael Givens, was built from the ground up with real-world experience. The company is rooted in nearly a decade of hands-on experience across multiple sectors of the trucking industry. Michael began his journey in 2017 in the oil field, where he quickly scaled operations to a five-truck fleet.

While the growth was strong, the model exposed deeper challenges including intense equipment wear, operational inefficiencies, and industry politics that did not align with his long-term vision. Seeking a better path, he transitioned into the commodities sector and continued scaling, eventually growing the operation to 25 trucks under a major carrier’s authority. From the outside, it looked like success. But something was missing.

In 2023, Michael made a critical decision that would redefine the company: he obtained his CDL and went on the road himself. That experience changed everything.

For the first time, he fully understood the physical and mental demands of driving, the risks drivers face daily, and the strain that time away places on families. With that perspective, his vision became more clear: Givens Freight Lines would not be built like a traditional trucking company. It would be rebuilt from the ground up, driver-focused, system-driven, and designed to scale into a dominant logistics enterprise.
